Roxbury (EFA/jal) Vom 11. – 15.07.2018 fanden in Roxbury / New Jersey (USA) die U18 Weltmeisterschaften statt, an der auch europäische Nationen teilnahmen.
Bei den Frauen gewann Deutschland Gold durch ein 3:2 (11:6 9:11 7:11 11:8 14:12) gg. Brasilien und verteidigte damit den im Jahr 2016 in Nürnberg gewonnen Titel erfolgreich.
Die Bronzemedaille ging nach Österreich, die Ihr Spiel gg. die Schweiz glatt in 3 Sätzen gewinnen konnten 3:0 (12:10 11:7 11:9).
Bei den Männern unterlag Deutschland im Endspiel gg. Brasilien und musste sich mit Silber zufrieden geben 1:3 (5:11 5:11 15:14 8:11). Im Spiel um Platz 3 trennen sich Österreich und die Schweiz 3:0 (11:3 14:12 11:3). Den 8. Platz belegte Italien.
